Above is a photograph of Charlotte, a very talented and beautiful model who has recently been on tv on the e4 tv programme dirty sexy things, which follows a group of models throughout their lives for part of this year whilst they take part in photoshoots for photographer Perou, photoshoots which at the end of the series would be placed in an exhibition, aswell as following their other projects and various personal activities.
The image above was taken in an underwater shoot (obviously). I have seen many underwater shoots recently, (there was one on Britain and Irelands Next Top Model which I didn't particularly like) however the shot above, is beautiful. It instantly reminded me of water nymphs, so below is my attempt at drawing it witht that in mind. The lines are really dark so I think it needs something softer added to it, colour maybe. I dont know but I don't think this is finished.
My Uncle and I were talking about tattoo designs, I know that like me, he loves Bettie Page, but he also is really into zombies too. I suggested an image Bettie Page in zombie form might be a good idea. I went to V festival, and when I was back I drawnt the above imgae of Bettie. I think it turned out quite well, the figure is good, and if you're familiar with who Bettie is, I think you really can recognise who it is. At V festival I was really really impressed with Jessie J's performance, so when I got back I drawnt this picture of her, I dont think I'm particularly good at drawing usually, so I was quite impressed with how it turned out. I scanned these two images in together and in a weird way I think they work well together. It looks like I'm trying to make some sort of statement of females of the past being replaced with popular female figures of the future, or whatever, I wasn't, intentionally, but I suppose it works well portraying that message, I just think they look good together.
I LOVE Camden. I want to live there, right now. Before and after visiting Amy Winehouse' house, I had a look around the streets of Camden and all the markets and shops, its just so welcoming, I would absolutely love to have a stall there. In the markets they sell so much amazing stuff, something in particular I loved was a stall which sold old newspapers and posters, I wanted to buy them all, but sadly as I was travelling back couldn't :(. Above are some photos of various things around Camden, although looking at them now I realised I only took photos of things I'm scared of, statues, dolls, mannequins, whats wrong with me? Ah well. Camden was lovely.
Above are a few photographs from when I went to London shortly after Amy Winehouse' death. I was in London to visit a friend, but felt obliged to visit camden and pay my respects to Amy while I was there. When I arrived outside Amys house it was really overwhelming, you could honestly feel the emotion around the area, there were people laying down flowers, drawings, posters, people that had came from other countries and there were even people dressed up like Amy sat in the park area facing her house. It was emotional, but I'm really glad I went to lay down my illustration and just take a while to sit and think. I met some lovely people outside who were really big fans, it was a morbid yet really really nice atmosphere, there was deifnitely a sense of togetherness from the people around.
